For a half day, Haus of Automotive sets the stage for the industry’s pioneers to shine the spotlight on a discipline with untapped potential in Automotive Design: Lighting. Explore the intersection of lighting art and immersive experiences, and how a new generation of digital craftsmanship is shaping emotive Design beyond pure functionality.
Welcome to the Lighting Conference at Haus of Automotive 2026 in collaboration with our partner DVN!
A warm “Hello” to all our guests from Konzepthaus CEO Martin Groschwald.
Bentley has crafted wood, leather and metal for over 100 years. With the same attention to detail Bentley wants to craft light – the fourth material.
True luxury demands a restless pursuit of excellence, and excellence demands evolving craftsmanship. That’s why Bentley is investing in new skills, building bridges between design and electrical engineering – a generation of craftsmanship: Digital Craftsmanship.
Held by Bentley’s Lead Lighting Designer Naomi Saka, the talk will go into a deep dive on how the brand achieves curated luxury Lighting for its customers from concept to production, and expanding the creative vocabulary of light across disciplines.
Lighting has become one of the most recognisable elements of a vehicle’s identity. From distinctive daytime running lights to animated welcome sequences, exterior lighting now plays a central role in defining how a brand is perceived on the road.
This panel explores how Lighting evolved into a powerful Design signature. How do designers balance creativity with regulatory and engineering constraints? And how can brands maintain a clear visual identity as lighting possibilities continue to expand?
Our panelists will discuss how design and technology intersect in modern Lighting development and how exterior lighting is shaping the future language of Automotive and Mobility Design.
Speakers:
As vehicle interiors transform into multifunctional spaces, lighting is becoming a key element in shaping how these environments are experienced. Beyond simple illumination, interior lighting now influences atmosphere, comfort, and the perceived quality of a space.
This panel examines the role of Lighting in creating emotional and spatial experiences inside vehicles. How can designers use light to define zones, enhance materials, and support different moments of use from focused driving to relaxed travel? In what ways does Lighting contribute to the feeling of a living space rather than a purely functional cockpit?
We will explore how Lighting helps turn mobility interiors into environments that feel intuitive, comfortable, and increasingly comparable to domestic spaces.
Freshen up, have a few chit chats, and enjoy delicious Italian coffee and treats.
Lighting is no longer only about visibility or decoration. Increasingly, it acts as an interface between the vehicle and its users, communicating information, guiding attention, and supporting intuitive interaction.
This panel focuses on the growing role of Lighting within the user experience. How can light help users understand vehicle functions and systems without relying on traditional displays? What role does Lighting play in communicating safety, status, or intent both inside and outside the vehicle? And how can designers ensure that lighting based interactions remain intuitive rather than overwhelming?
Our panelists will discuss how Lighting is evolving into a core component of mobility UX and how thoughtful Design can transform light into a meaningful communication tool.

And how must organisations rethink their processes, teams, and priorities to design experiences that truly stand out?

Automotive brands operate on a global stage, but user expectations, cultural contexts, and interpretations of experience differ widely across regions. Designing for consistency while remaining locally relevant has become one of the most complex challenges in UX and Branding today.
This panel examines the tension between a unified brand experience and the need for cultural sensitivity. How do interaction patterns, visual language, and even the meaning of “intuitive” vary between regions like Asia, Europe, and the US?
Where should brands adapt, and where should they remain consistent? And what does it take to create experiences that feel coherent worldwide, yet resonate deeply on a local level?
Freshen up, have a few chit chats, and enjoy delicious Italian coffee and treats.
Automotive brands are no longer defined solely by the vehicles they produce. To stay relevant, they must increasingly position themselves within a broader cultural context – engaging with lifestyle, design, and communities beyond the car itself.
Our panelists explore how brands expand into cultural spaces and what it takes to do so credibly. Why is it no longer enough to focus on the product alone? And how can automotive learn from other industries, where experience and storytelling have long been central?
We’ll critically examine the fine line between meaningful brand engagement and superficial marketing. When do extensions into culture create real value and when do they feel forced? The panel will share perspectives on how automotive brands can build authentic, lasting connections in a world where relevance is defined far beyond mobility.
