What is your role at Konzepthaus?

I am co-founder and CEO of Konzepthaus and am excited to now also head up our recently created new division, Konzepthaus Innovation Consultancy.

What does Innovation mean to you?

Innovation is everything in the world of design. It goes far beyond the individual projects we accomplish day-to-day but has the capacity to mould the culture and behaviour of people. This is our aim: To drive innovation in teams to evolve and expand mindsets and shape the future business direction beyond product development.

What was life before Konzepthaus?

I like to challenge mindsets, so I was looking at becoming a lobbyist before I was introduced to headhunting. After starting my career in London, I moved back to my home country and together with Daniel founded Konzepthaus.

What’s the top thing on your bucket list?

To drive along the original route 66 in a vintage Aston Martin, climb Mount Fuji, visit the Superclassico at La Bombanera in Buenos Aires.  Or was I supposed to say just one….?.

What is your role at Konzepthaus?

I am a co-founder and Managing Director of Konzepthaus and see my role as one that helps to shape modern business solutions, through connecting talented people globally and allowing our clients to source new business partners that drive their innovation.

What three words would best describe you?

Goal driven, ambitious and always on the lookout for new opportunities.

What was life before Konzepthaus?

Originally from Germany, I moved to Manchester, UK, to study Marketing and Management.  After graduating from university, I decided to enter the recruitment industry as I was motivated by the ability to work with multinational companies and the perspective of generating value through finding the best talent for their business ambitions.

What’s your greatest ambition?

To develop Konzepthaus into the Number One global consultancy for the design industry.

How do you deliver on the company’s purpose of ‘accelerating the future of innovation’?

Coming from a start-up, I truly know how difficult it is to drive innovation – to find the ideal sweet spot between vision and implementation.  I have vast experience in the area of design management and forming complex, creative organisations.  Equipped with this experience, I help our business partners find ideal pathways to future proof their innovation initiatives.

What was life before Konzepthaus?

After studying product and transportation design I joined the team at BMW Advance Design. I have since worked with several suppliers, conducting projects across Europe and Russia and progressed my career into Management. The last 4 years with Byton have been a highly satisfying challenge, allowing me to work for an innovative company that transforms transportation.

What three words would best describe you?

Reflective, creative and active.

What talent may people not know you have?

Well, I am quite good at building LEGO models.

What is your role at Konzepthaus?

Heading up the new Konzepthaus Academy, my role is to deliver exciting, new content, skills and technology through our extensive, high-end training programs.  We aim to help upskill our clients’ teams or freelancers to develop new skills, implemented in their daily design process that accelerate the pace of their innovation.

How do you deliver on the company’s purpose of ‘accelerating the future of innovation’?

Developments in hardware and software have matured and vastly rooted themselves through different industries. Each industry has different requirements which result in powerful solutions; however, those can be hidden to other almost parallel industries, and inaccessible to the mainstream users.  We are committed to accelerating the future of innovation, by democratizing the access to those solutions through offering training content that shares the knowledge across multiple fields.

What would be your personal motto?

“You start as fast as you can, and very slowly you increase the pace”.

What other exciting things have you done in your life?

Bouldering for fun.

What is your role at Konzepthaus?

As a consultant within Konzepthaus, the purpose of my role is to deliver customer-orientated results that achieve our partners’ business objectives.  To do this, I like to draw upon my skills of analytical thinking, a methodical way of working, and the use of my own initiative to challenge existing norms and offer creative solutions.

What was life before Konzepthaus?

I studied a bachelor’s and master’s degree, with a focus on business administration and international management, in 4 different countries.  Following graduation, I was part of the team responsible for designing the corporate strategy for Mercedes-AMG GmbH.

Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?

The simplicity of my 3-year-old nephew’s view of the world.

Can you name a talent, that not everyone knows about you?

I can whistle through my tooth gap!

Moritz Hausel

What is your role at Konzepthaus?

I am an associate with the Konzepthaus Innovation Consultancy team. Together with our clients, we help focus and sharpen targets to future-proof the businesses we work together with. An integral part of what I do is deliver automotive market insights to help identify where our clients could enhance performance and support them in addressing these areas with our unique consultative approach.

How do you deliver on the company’s purpose of ‘accelerating the future of innovation’?

Our job at KIC is to identify problems before they are present, causing us to think of solutions instead of barriers. In this way, we can break through barriers to growth, helping to move Companies forward in their innovation process.

What was life before Konzepthaus?

After completing my master’s, I had the opportunity to work for Porsche in Dubai, within the Network Development Department. An exciting role that managed the importer and dealer network of the Middle East, Africa and India regions. This role strengthened my thirst for knowledge and appreciation of the innovation process across different regions and cultures.

Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why?

My family. I know I can always go to them for the best advice and support. They have given me such strength to grow into the person I am today.

What is your role at Konzepthaus?

As a recruitment consultant and heading up our UK office, my role will be twofold; to work closely with our mobility clients and spearhead our expansion in the UK market.

But fundamentally, my role involves consulting and finding strategic recruitment solutions for our client’s needs to ultimately connect them with the best design talent from our global connections.

How do you deliver on the company’s purpose of ‘accelerating the future of innovation’?

I strongly believe that we need to continue learning, be open, adopt new ideas from within our industry, or others and be humble enough to accept that there is always room for improvement. With this approach, I remain inquisitive and passionate about adopting new working practices which I believe play a role in driving change and innovation in what I do.

What would be a top career highlight for you?

I have been privileged to work with new start-ups, building and shaping their design teams which has the result of influencing the wider Company through their people.

What other exciting things have you done in your life?

With a passion for travel and food, I’ve been lucky enough to step foot on and eat my way around the world, visiting almost every continent, apart from Antarctica, but then I don’t have a taste for penguins.

What is your role at Konzepthaus? 

Recruitment consulting for design is my primary focus: getting to know our clients and forming new ones, understanding changes taking place in the industry, and, of course, finding people their dream roles. The challenge of thinking differently and searching out new ways of working is paramount to my role and one that excites me. 

How do you deliver on the company’s purpose of ‘accelerating the future of innovation’? 

Innovation is fascinatingIts the lifeblood of progress and can be consistently found across all time, in every corner of humanity. For Konzepthaus, supporting the acceleration of this, via the recruitment framework, allows for talented individuals to have the creative space for their visions to be realisedLike the janitor who played his part putting man on the moon, we play our part in the development of life-changing products.  

Can you name a talent, that not everyone knows about you? 

I’m highly skilled at making mashed potato and quite a decent cellist.  The trick is not to combine the two and forget which implement I have in hand. 

Who has been the biggest influence in your life and why? 

My grandmother. Her stoicism and brilliant mind never failed to inspire or shock.

What is your role at Konzepthaus?

As a recruiter on the digital team, I am always striving to find standout, creative talent for the design teams of my business partners. Fostering long term partnerships allows me to truly understand the industries and people I work with, and the needs of my business partners’. I also enjoy hosting the podcast Moodboard by Konzepthaus, to deliver inspiration and connect people through shared knowledge.

We deliver innovation by choosing the right talent, placing only the most creative people who challenge what they know, to allow them to truly innovate the process of design.  We accelerate innovation by facilitating the sharing of knowledge from aligned industries through our podcast series. It can challenge people’s mindsets and provide new ways of approaching design.

What was life before Konzepthaus?

Before Konzepthaus, I taught German as a foreign language. Through this, I met many lovely people from all over the world and found it extremely fulfilling to support my students in realizing their ambitions. It was a great intercultural experience for me.

What is your role at Konzepthaus?

As a consultant in the digital team of Konzepthaus, I have a client base consisting of high-performance companies at the forefront of innovation in UI/UX, for which I seek out the right talent to fill the gaps in their design teams.  Within this function, my role encompasses many HR topics, from search, identification, assessment, and ultimately facilitating the hire of design talent for all different levels of roles in the digital design industry. 

How do you deliver on the company’s purpose of ‘accelerating the future of innovation’? 

Our clients create the future for how customers will experience products or services leveraging enhancements in technology and inter-connectivity.  Digital design fuels this innovation.   Our deep understanding of the design process helps shape the future, by providing the very best fit of talent for key roles so that you can deliver against your innovation goals.

What is your role at Konzepthaus?

In my role here at Konzepthaus, I aim to generate worth by creating a symbiotic relationship between the client and the talent to satisfy both parties’ needs, wants, and ambitions. By building relationships with our clients and our talent, I can fulfil my role as a consultant and trusted partner.

I believe that innovation will be our saving grace since it will allow for greater decentralization of power through connecting people in a voluntary and symbiotic way, leading to more freedom and self-determination!  

What other exciting things have you done in your life? 

I have an addiction to endurance sports, and to date, I consider my most outstanding athletic achievement to be when I became the Tyrolian vice-champion in the ‘Beer Mile’. Also, of note, I finished the IATF K110 race around Innsbruck with a vertical gain of 4800m and a total distance of 103k. 

Who is someone you admire, and why? 

Oh, there are many great men and women! I admire David Goggins for his incredible toughness and love of suffering, David Hackworth for his leadership (lessons) and honesty about his failures that we can learn from and Jordan Peterson for his wisdom, to name a few. They all have flaws and incredibly redeeming qualities that I find very inspiring.

I’m a recruitment consultant here at Konzepthaus Digital. In my daily work, I am actively on the lookout for new, talented and motivated digital designers to align them to our broad client base and many exciting roles on offer. I try to understand the needs and wishes of both my clients and candidates, striving to ensure a balance and the best possible match for both parties.

What is your role at Konzepthaus?

My role as Brand Engagement Manager sees me creating all visual elements in support of our marketing content plan, video production, and editing of our innovative podcasts. Within such a dynamic company, I regularly draw upon my ability to multitask and ‘jack of all trades’ skills.

How do you deliver on the company’s purpose of ‘accelerating the future of innovation’?

To me, the goal of life is to improve things.  Innovation is the key to this process. My aim here at Konzepthaus is to communicate our innovations in the most effective, visual way and make people see things from a different angle.

Who has been the most significant influence in your life and why?

My uncle, since he taught me to be compassionate and still a strong and competitive person.

What other exciting things have you done in your life?

In 2003, after wanting to help the victims of the earthquake in Bam (Iran), I played the Santur (an Iranian musical instrument) in front of 250 people.  We raised more than 10,000 Euro.

What is your role at Konzepthaus?

In my role as talent attraction and employer branding specialist, I am tasked with elevating our company profile as a brand and ensuring that the experiences people have in dealing with us are of a superior level. To do this, I work closely with the whole team here at Konzepthaus delivering state-of-the-art and engaging candidate, client and employee experiences.

Konzepthaus’ vision is of a world where the power of innovation shapes a better future. What does a better future look like to you?

When we mention innovation in the field of employer branding & talent attraction, I immediately think of its application in the areas of big data and AI technology.

This area will positively impact companies, helping them to more deeply understand the needs and expectations of their talents and clients. I believe this will drive employers to take a more holistic approach when developing their employer brand strategies and aligning these with the company’s culture and values.

What other interesting things have you done in your life?

I’m an avid cyclist, and I’m not talking about a small ride around a lake. One of my cycling challenges saw me ride 312 km with a difference in altitude of 2105 m at an average speed of 22 km/h. I also once challenged myself to ride 914 km within 7 days. My bum still remembers those rides haha… : )

My family who have always deeply supported me in the goals I’ve set so far in life both personally and professionally.
