California Automotive Design community, you keep raising the bar.
Some events simply leave you smiling long after they’ve ended. Pistons & Pretzels California was one of them.
On July 19, around 500 automotive enthusiasts gathered at this year’s main partner Rivian‘s headquarters for the third edition of Pistons & Pretzels US.
From the first arrivals to the final conversations, the atmosphere was exactly what this community is all about: relaxed, welcoming, and built around a shared passion for Automotive Design and great cars.
California delivered perhaps one of our most diverse lineups yet.
Together with our partners Rivian, ADRO, Aptera Motors, Lucid Motors, and Karma Automotive, we brought everything from trucks and EVs to classics, supercars, and unreleased concepts. No matter where your automotive interests lie, something always made you stop right in your tracks.
The visitor cars were no less impressive.
Among trucks, supercars, classics, unreleased concepts, and even a few cool two wheelers, one of many highlights were the two standouts showcased in a dedicated VIP section:
two models featured in the movie Ford v Ferrari (Le Mans ’66).
Another reminder that some of the most memorable cars at Pistons & Pretzels are the ones driven in by the community itself.

Throughout the morning, designers, enthusiasts, students, families, and friends filled the venue with conversations around the cars everyone had spotted across the parking lot, the memories they made with their own, and new ideas for Automotive Design.
Whether people were meeting for the first time or catching up with familiar faces, the sense of community could be felt everywhere.
P.S.: What could be felt just as much was the appetite for the Bavarian pretzels we bring to all our Pistons & Pretzels, even the ones across the pond. At this point, we’d argue they’ve earned iconic status of their own, as the baskets barely touched the table before they were empty again. 😄
A huge thank you to our main partner Rivian for hosting us at their headquarters, as well as ADRO, Aptera Motors, Lucid Motors, and Karma Automotive for bringing such an incredible lineup.
And to everyone who joined us, whether you brought your own dream car or simply came to enjoy the atmosphere, thank you for making another Pistons & Pretzels US one to remember.
We’ll be back in California this October for the Mobility Design Conference, and after a day like this, we can’t wait to do it all over again.
