Mobility Design Conference – California 2024
A New Era in Automotive Design
Our first Mobility Design Conference in California was a resounding success, bringing together leaders, innovators, and design professionals from the automotive and mobility industries. Set against the California backdrop, the event was filled with engaging discussions, dynamic energy, and inspiring moments, all focused on the evolving landscape of mobility design.
Key Themes and Dynamic Discussions
The conference centered on three key streams: Color, Materials, and Finish (CMF) Design, User Experience (UX), and Processes & Tools. Each session was expertly moderated by Laura Burstein (CMF), Robert Cameron (UX), and Martin Groschwald (Processes & Tools). These discussions allowed us to dive deep into industry trends, challenges, and opportunities, opening up a space for professionals to learn and share ideas.

We were thrilled to host speakers from leading companies like AC Future, Audi, Designworks (A BMW Group Company), Depix AI, Ford, GAC, Hyundai Design North America, Icon Group, Kia, Lightship, Mazda, Mercedes Benz, Nilu27, Piaggio, Race Service, Rivian, Scout Motors, Shawmut Corporation, Superconductor, Toyota, Zoon, and Art Center College of Design. Their expertise brought invaluable insights to the event, making it a one-of-a-kind gathering for the mobility design community.
Additionally, we were pleased to explore learning from other industries such as Cunningham Concept Design, Joby Aviation, Royal Smit & Zoon, and Saunders Creative. These perspectives broadened our understanding of how cross-industry insights can influence automotive design and mobility.
A Thriving Community and Energized Atmosphere
What made this event truly special was the overwhelming energy from the attendees. It was clear that California’s automotive and mobility design community has been waiting for a platform like this. The level of interest and the dynamic discussions made this event unforgettable. We are proud to have finally brought this format to California and look forward to future editions.
