Course Goals

This 5-day beginner course introduces Solidworks as a parametric CAD tool tailored to automotive and mobility design. Participants learn how to sketch, build and modify clean parametric parts, assemble key vehicle components, and prepare data and views suitable for studio reviews and engineering collaboration.

By the end of the week, each participant will have created a simple vehicle-related assembly (e.g. wheel, suspension or body section), applied materials and basic visualisation, and prepared drawings/exports that plug into typical OEM workflows.

• Navigate and configure Solidworks for automotive-scale projects
• Create fully constrained sketches and features that capture design intent
• Model basic automotive parts and surfaces suitable for concept work
• Build small assemblies with correct relationships & references
