Pistons & Pretzels - Gothenburg
Our Pistons & Pretzels car design gathering is coming to Sweden for the first time and more than 500 designers have secured their spot!
Due to limited space, we have now closed registration!
Registration is mandatory to get access to the event, even if you are not bringing a vehicle with you.
Please understand that we will not be able to allow anybody to enter the event space without registration!
We started the Pistons & Pretzels in 2019 in Munich to create a space for automotive, transportation and mobility designers to meet, chat, learn, find opportunities to collaborate and share their passion and ideas. Its popularity began to grow quite quickly on an international level. Ever since the first one, we have hosted the event in Frankfurt, the UK and now for the first time ever in Gothenburg, Sweden.
We encourage all participants to show their toys (cars & motorcycles) or just join to have a look at the collection and meet friends and colleagues in an informal setting.
This time, we are partnering up with the Geely Design Center Gothenburg to create an unforgettable experience for you.

Geely Design is a multicultural global network of studios dedicated to supporting the efforts of Geely Auto Group sub brands including Geely Auto, Lynk & Co, LEVC, PROTON and Lotus. With total staff of approximately 900, the network is based in Shanghai, Gothenburg, Kuala Lumpur and Coventry.
They are a fast-growing team of both creative and management professionals with the task of delivering exciting global products suitable for volume production and innovative concepts. Ever since the first Pistons & Pretzels event in 2019, it was our dream to feature world-class show cars on-site. Today, this dream has become a reality!
Polestar Roadster Concept
The Polestar Roadster Concept, the electric roadster concept, is not just intended to generate enthusiasm (although it certainly does). It is meant to define a new benchmark for sports cars. It is intended to make it clear that drivers do not have to choose between quality, fun and sustainability.
Volvo Concept Recharge
“Our Concept Recharge represents a manifesto for the all-electric future of Volvo Cars, as well as a new type of vehicle,” said Robin Page, former head of design. “It displays new and modern proportions that go hand-in-hand with increased versatility and shows what technology can enable in terms of design.”
Lynk & Co 'The Next Day' Concept
‘The Next Day’ represents an evolutionary step for the brand which has proven successful since its inception just six years ago when it became the fastest-selling new brand globally. It boasts a dramatic look, one characterised by muscular proportions with sharp lines that cut through the metallic body.
Zeekr 001
What was initially presented in 2021 as the Lynk & Co Zero Concept went into series production in 2023 as the Zeekr 001. This is because group parent Geely is building up the new Zeekr brand as an electric luxury label. While this is already active in China, Europe and thus very likely Germany will be served in the course of 2023.
But we don't just stop there!
In the summer of 2023, June 2–September 3, Gothenburg welcomes the people of Gothenburg and visitors from all over the world to Gothenburg’s 400th anniversary celebration. The program begins with Gothenburg’s Anniversary Festival (June 2–5) and is followed by Prototyping Gothenburg, which will turn the city’s public spaces into an exhibition arena.

Throughout the summer, visitors will be able to take part in several anniversary initiatives, such as the celebration of Gothenburg’s 100-year-old institutions. To spice it all up, we decided to open our doors not only to the car design community, but to all visitors of the city's celebration for the first time ever in the history of Pistons & Pretzels. All you need to do is to register and secure your spot through our registration form down below!
We want to stress that even though we at Konzepthaus organise this event together with Geely Design, this will not be a recruitment event. This is merely a small “Thank you” from us to the entire automotive and mobility design community and an opportunity to bring all of us together to have a great time, have a few drinks, some snacks, and exchange thoughts and ideas.
